What makes opportunity thrive in Greensboro, North Carolina? We think our appeal as a place to build a life and a livelihood begins with the culture of knowledge, innovation and creativity that is spurred by the seven institutions of higher learning located in Greensboro.
This intellectual capital fuels the engine of our diversified, economically vibrant business community. Add to that “livability” that inspires personal growth and fulfillment, and the result is a growth-friendly business climate that benefits all who choose to build their future here.
Opportunity Greensboro: A Business and Collegiate Partnership is a consortium of the business and higher education leaders who are working to further the connections between businesses and our colleges and universities. Through this national model of collaboration, we are identifying and acting on opportunities to transform our wealth of educational assets into commercial success—creating for Greensboro a competitive advantage for business growth.
Opportunity Greensboro focuses on four areas that leverage our academic strengths into success: marketing, common programs, entrepreneurship, and K–12 education. The group’s first projects included establishing the community-wide marketing theme, “Opportunity Thrives Here, So Can You”, the launch of The STEM Early College at NC A&T, a collaborative venture with Guilford County Schools, and the shared downtown “Union Square Campus” scheduled for completion this Fall 2016.
Opportunity Greensboro is an initiative of Action Greensboro.
