Kent John Chabotar became the eighth president of Guilford College in 2002. Previously, Kent served as a faculty member and administrator at Bowdoin College, Harvard University, University of Massachusetts, and Michigan State University. He continues to teach at the Harvard Seminar for New Presidents, Institute for Educational Management (IEM), and other executive education programs. Kent has published widely on finance and strategy in higher education including the book Strategic Finance (2006) and articles on the economic crisis for Inside Higher Education (2009), Chronicle of Higher Education (2009), and Change (2010). Kent received his MPA and Ph.D. degrees from Syracuse University.
